NK has a stationary target, right in front of him, that happens to be holding Dany, et al, and he instead aims at a flying target much further away? He could have ended the war right then by taking out his biggest adversaries in one shot.

These are little things that should be fixed when storyboarding. It ruins the immersion when you blow established character development and/or have people making inexplicably stupid decisions.

I criticize because I love the foundation and want to see the end faithfully and competently executed. I'm a fan, which is short for fanatic. I'm not a casual viewer. I am invested.

PPS - Tormund should have died. If GRRM wrote that scene, he would have. Probably Berric too.

It wouldnt end the Night Kings war....just Laninsters. That said---the stationary target was easier----but it was also aware of his presence. Maybe his ice projectile would not fare so well when met with blast of dragon flame.
