Being a parent knowing that you can't protect your child from it either is probably worse.

As a dad of two small children it was pretty tough to sit through. Just a horrific scene but glad they handled it fairly well - off screen and not a lot of screaming.

The scene from the previous season with Stannis' daughter was probably worse for me though.
