CSNBBS Weight Loss League - Official Thread
Rules:

Weigh-in Day: Tuesdays
Initial Weigh-in: Tuesday January 19
Regular Season: 13 Weeks
Playoffs: 4 weeks
All contests will be 1 week in length

2 Divisions of 14 players, each person will play each other person in their division once.

Result Points:
Win = 3 points
Loss = 0 points
Tie = 1 point
Forfeit Win = 1 point
Forfeit Loss = -2 points

12 of the 28 players will make the playoffs. The top 4 players (top 2 from each division, based on standings points) will have a bye in the first round. The remaining 8 players that will make the playoffs as wild cards will be (in order):

The next 4 highest standings points (regardless of division)
The 4 highest cumulative percent weight lost (regardless of division)

The division winners will be the top 2 seeds (sorted by standings points)
The 3-4 seeds will be the second place division finishers (sorted by standings points)
The remaining 8 qualifiers will be sorted by standings points

All ties on seeding will be broken using cumulative percent weight lost. If there is still a tie, a coin will be flipped.

Competition Basis: % of Weight Lost per week.

Weekly Weigh-in Deadlines: 11:59 PM Tuesdays (Central Time)

Weigh-in Process: Send me a private message with your weight. I will not publish weight, just percentage lost each week. Please be as exact as possible (if your scale goes to tenths of a pound, please do not round it when you weigh in).

Missing a weigh-in will result in a forfeit loss for the week ending on that day. If both players miss in their head to head matchup, both players will get a forfeit loss, not a tie. If you miss your weigh-in on Tuesday, you may weigh-in later in the week, but the weeks will always end on Tuesday.

For example, you weigh-in on Tuesday January 19. You are out of town on January 25-27. You weigh-in on Thursday the 28th. You will have forfeited the January 19-26th matchup. The January 26th-February 2nd matchup will use your weigh-in on the 28th as your initial weight, and your weigh-in on the second as your ending weight.

If your opponent does not weigh-in (which awards you a forfeit win), the forfeit win can be upgraded to a win if you lose a higher percentage than the average percentage lost among competitors in completed matchups.

If you do not weigh-in at all, you will forfeit the match-ups that you missed the ending weigh-ins for. You will get a result for when you do finally weigh in, but your weight loss will be divided by the number of weeks you missed. So if you weighed in at the end of week 1, but not again until the end of week 3, you will forfeit the week 2 matchup, and your week 3 weight lost will be divided by 2.

Standings and results will be posted after all weights have been received, likely Wednesday evenings.
