Well, I guess that's the perspective they might have been angling for in TLJ? I think some people took it as more "look at these foolish boys who can't seem to get anything done right, so once again the women will have to rescue them...or something to that effect" I remember there was a line between Leia and Holdo where they commented how cute Poe was even though he was foolish. I only saw TLJ once and didn't bother to buy it when it came out on DVD. Now, with the IX on Dvd, I'm debating whether or not to do so. maybe I'll wait until prices drop. I can probably pick up a copy of TLJ used so I won't have to feel too bad about wasting $3 on it. As a completest, I'd like to have it, but I wonder what would have happened if they didn't go off the rails so far and the story would have resolved differently, with Luke Skywalker still fully intact as an icon instead of what they did to him.

TLJ is pure trash. You shouldn't feel obligated to buy that steaming pile just to finish your collection. To this day my Godfather Collection stops after Part II.
