Well App>Southern for me. And on the scoreboard this season. My condolences to your argument as you've been......lawyered.

But seriously, you can discuss power rankings, without discussing the game that was played between the two. Having seen all three teams in person, my objective view point says State is heads and shoulders above any team in the Belt this season with a healthy Knighten. (and a little motivation to avenge a home loss to an FBS Transitional team)

You all were shutdown by App and WVU in the same manner that State would be able to. State is probably the only other team in the belt that has the speed at linebacker to get to the outside before Breida and then clog the remaining lanes with safeties and linebackers the way App did. They are also in the Top 3 in coaching staff's in the Belt which can't be overlooked.

And we're healthier now than we were against App and have 2 key players back that were missing that game, and we were missing Ellison against WVU (not that the result would have changed, but I'd be willing to bet we get some points on the board).

We put some interesting wrinkles in against Troy, both on offense and defense. We also MIGHT have learned to pass the ball....jury is still out on that.

We are not the same team that played in Boone, much like App wasn't the same team that played in Statesboro at this point last year.

I'd like our chances on a rematch with App. I'd also like our chances against stAte.

I also like our chances against UGA this weekend. We've gotta take care of business, and I won't be shocked if we take a L, but we've got more of a shot now than I thought we would earlier in the season.

If you look at what you just posted, you will notice a lot of homer qualities emanating from well...everywhere. Before you assume you have a shot, please go watch the WVU and App State game again.

We all want to believe you have a chance but against good defenses, you have laid an egg. Two times this year, I see that happen and it really puts into perspective what you are up against with UGA.

The point of all of this is, you lost at App and you don't play State. You can play transitive property all you want but you can't talk about it without knowing that you didn't just lose, you were beaten soundly. I never assumed that App was better than Southern last year as you didn't have but one close game in conference all season.

As i've said. I saw State and Southern play in Boone this season and disregarding the score, State is a much better team top to bottom than Southern is this season. Next year may be different as they won't have Knighten.

Homerish....yet I mentioned things specifically that have improved for us, including changes in player status and scheme changes that have the potential to change some things around for us. I remember App fans saying the same thing last year..."We finally ditched the Air Raid and went power run and look how much better we are" "We finally got rid of the vanilla defense and got more aggressive and we're so much better on defense." If I'm bleeding homer tendencies all over my statements, then I'm no more homer than the majority of App fans last year.

Look, I won't be surprised if we lose this week. It's the most likely outcome. FEI has assigned a 75% win probability to UGA at a spread of 9 points. S&P+ has assigned a 59% win probability to UGA at a spread of 4 points. Both of those have us losing.....but both of them have us in striking distance, and that's where I think we have the potential to be. We have to play a complete game like we did this past week though.

Would you have liked your chances in a rematch against us at the end of the year last year?

App's team was different last year. Players weren't injured or waiting to come back from injury. The issue with them last year was that entirely different players were in because they were being redshirted at the time. After the Liberty game, the redshirt's came off and the same defensive players who made this years game was it was, stood up and took care of business. (Stringer and Boggs). However, with the offensive line the Eagles had last year i'd have expected the same outcome.

I can appreciate the argument for injuries but injuries and not having key players are part of the game as well. Hypothetical talks of who would win a rematch are just that. Ultimately they mean as much as if I talk about what I would do with the money I could win from the lottery.
