no other offers and moved here last year.

That was my reaction at first, but then again, maybe there is a reason he had no other D1 offers. Yes, we need a guy that size, but if he can't contribute its not worth the scholarship. We need someone to come in that can contribute inside quickly. We don't have the luxury or time anymore to take on a project. ECU evidently does. It might pay off for them, it might not, but Im not going to second guess JJ on this one. It would be different if he were a 3* guy with several quality D1 offers.
