That's not necessarily a bad thing. It gives him a de facto redshirt year to develop without burning a year in Caver's shadow. Of course we still need a backup PG. Maybe one of the new guys can give us a few minutes per half?

We don't need much. Caver has shown the stanima to play 36-40 minutes and he stays out of foul trouble as well. Green is kind of a combo guard that can play point a few minutes per game.

another reason why I hated to see Fields leave. I guess theres always a chance Pickney can improve enough to be a serviceable backup?


I am comfortable with what I saw out of Pinckney in very limited minutes. I think we'll be fine there.

Pinckney is scared of JJ. He plays looking over his shoulder. If he can overcome this he will be fine.
