If you have a scholarship, would you rather take on a guy for 1 year with potential or just lose the scholarship?

Hes a strong defender (from what im told) and would replace haynes....plus we have the scholarships. Dont see the issue.

You're the guy that always wants to post recent stats to make your argument about a player, about a coach, or about a team. In this instance you have 3 years of recent stats for the player being discussed, yet you refrain from using them. That's very odd. Is it because his stats don't support your argument which strongly appears to be that he should be recruited by ODU?

3 years of stats playing the ACC. It is was 3 years at a mid major, you would have a point. McClinton has played 900 total minutes across 3 years in a vastly superior conference........how would we even translate how that would be compared to CUSA?

Inhave no prediction on what he would do here but i would rather take a former 4 star guy from the ACC for a year than sit on it or take a JUCO. It also opens up a spot for next year. If there is some high school big man out there, we still have a spot open.

Not buying it. You left the stats out simply because they don't support your stance this time. Typically stats are 90 - 100% of your argument. Now you leave stats out and tell us to ignore them. McClinton having played in 900 total minutes is the equivalent of someone starting and playing 36 games if they averaged 25 minutes per game. The minutes weren't all played against top 25 opponents.

As for your comment ".... how would we even translate how that would be compared to CUSA?", there is no translation needed. I think that over the last 3 years (while McClinton was playing at Wake Forrest), Iowa State, Michigan State, and Minnesota would all attest to that since their "vastly superior conferences" all fell to CUSA teams in what was their biggest game of the year.

Im not even sure what you are arguing or just trying to argue against me on something. What are you arguing? That he sucks because of his stats the past 3 years? Do you think stats aren't adjusted for things such as league, strength of schedule, etc?

Not arguing at all. Only pointing out that you are not doing your normal routine with this one. Probably because it doesn't agree with your stance. Just use your stats like you typically do to present your case. Like the rest of us always do, we will determine if the stats are relevant or not. All that other rhetoric you keep adding is just ducking. Be consistent.
