Earlier today I was reading a report that said the job was going to be offered to McDaniels; I for one am glad that we passed on him. His time in Denver went south in a hurry. Nagy has a really interesting story, and he was almost out of football completely before joining Andy Reid in Philly. He's another CAA guy, which seems to have been the missing piece in Buffalo, so I am hopeful he's the guy and that he can put together a great staff...keeping Fangio would be a nice start. I think Chicago is closer to being a playoff contender than people think.

I had heard Patricia was the guy. I'd be careful about dismissing someone because of a failed first attempt at coaching. Remember Belichick pre NE? I don't know much about Nagy other than he was an OC in a place the the HC micro manages the play calling, and his team just laid an egg and got bounced after getting shut out in the second half.

I wasn't dismissing McDaniels, he just gave me pause. Patricia was a hot name before Chicago fired Fox, but they never requested an interview with him. I was quite surprised that they weren't interested, but I know he interviewed with Detroit. I also know that he is a rocket scientist because everyone likes to point that out.

Nagy called the plays the last 5 games of the year and the offense performed really well then. Beat writers in KC have said that Reid was calling plays on Saturday.
