His retaliation did not commensurate Norman's "body slam", and that is why Norman gets a pass. If the Norman slam was the only dirty play of the game, no one would be talking about the match up at all. OBJ was held in check most of the game, but made one big play at the end (not while covered by Norman), and then acted liked a brat mocking Newton. Finally, he caught a TD on Norman. Slight advantage to the Panthers defense. Personally, I think Beckham's behavior was fueled as much by the dropped TD as it was by Norman's slam.

The 'he started it' defense just feeds the notion that Beckham's immaturity got the best of him. If other DBs think they can take OBJ out of the game by being physical early, he's going to see a lot more of it in the future. There are a lot more Cortland Fnnegans in the NFL than Odell Beckhams.
