Hinton went on to LSU. My uncle who played along side him tells stories how tough Hinton was and that he played hurt the whole time he was at GB, didnt play his senior year but got offers from just about every school off his talent. He was one of the first African Americans at Great Bridge in the late 60s. The only team to shut him down was in title game with vs. Hampton in 1969

Honestly I think the biggest affect on athletics at Great Bridge High is that 1/3 of the schools population doesn't live in Great Bridge but is bused over from South Norfolk/ Crestwood area of Chesapeake.
