Ask yourself two yes or no questions?
1. Did he say he was going to increase investment in basketball?
2. By increasing Haase's salary, did he just make an investment in basketball.

The simple answer without the politics, PR, secret motives and hyperbole to both questions is yes.


Maybe for the wrong reasons, but this is one time he has kept his word. I know it hurts to acknowledge this.

Ask yourself another question. At any other school, one that doesn't have a embattled president and a controversy over football, after a coach in his third year just went to the round of 32 with a bunch of freshman and sophomores, and a pack of schools possibly ready to hire him away, would that school give him a raises and extension.

Point is, any other year at any other school, Haase would be getting a raise and extension.
