UDM gets the city kids who want to stay home. Apparently they'd rather go to UDM than Oakland, EMU or others.

UDM has a unique urban environment. Some like it. Some do not.

CMU gets the kids mostly from 'outstate.' WMU does very well in outstate, esp. in the Western part of the state.

We seem to come out 3rd for Detroit area kids to OU, UDM.

HAVING SAID THAT, I really do not care where the recruits come. I think we are doing BETTER by getting kids from outside MI.

Coaches, like Murphy, have extensive contact where they've been and Murphy can go up and down the Atlantic Coast. Plenty of good basketball there.

the only player we have from the east coast is bond we are a Michigan school so we do need to successfully recruit in state I like Thompson there happy recruiting stories like Thompson and mistakes as well in Murphy tenure at emu

Sir, you missed at least one: Mangum (Richmond, Va).

Last year we have Ajayi, who is from N. Carolina.

Previously, Jalen Ross, from N. Carolina.

Because of the number of graduate eligible transfers, JUCOs, etc. it is hard to say where players come. They are kind of 'two location' - their college town and their h.s. town.

Quite frankly, the players can come from anywhere so the best statement about geography: "Geographically dispersed."

Hunter was from New York.
Okologi was from New York.
Madray is from somewhere not far from New York.

And if one can count their college location, Okologi is also from Northern Virginia.

As was reported, Okoloji attending the Syracuse basketball camp as a kid which Murphy worked.

So the seeds of his recruitment happened many years ago in N.Y. state.
