New Canaan is right next to Fairfield Ct and the Fairfield Academy, which Terry Tarpey attended and graduated from. There is a basketball league for Private Secondary Schools in CT and both of these schools are probably members.

Walter is listed as being from New Haven CT so his parents must live there and he must have grown up there. New Canaan is a VERY POSH town in CT and New Haven is very much the opposite.

St Lukes has an Honor Code for its students - much like W&M.

I'm from close to this area in CT and to my knowledge, these schools aren't a part of the same sports conferences. Tarpey's high school alma mater, Fairfield Prep, is a private school, but one that is a bit more affordable for most families. I believe they play in a conference with some other private schools and public schools. At times, my public high school would have out of conference games against Fairfield Prep. St. Lukes on the other hand is more exclusive and much more expensive than Fairfield Prep. I believe their athletic conference just has a select few, exclusive private schools. I have no idea which conference is more competitive though. Fairfield Prep is much more well known for ice hockey and lacrosse, so I was pleasantly surprised how well Tarpey did knowing that Prep is not a basketball school. St. Lukes could very well be a great basketball school though.

I've been digging a little more about Walter Whyte; he is currently rated by recruiting services as a 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 Star Recruit. He has offers from about 25 different schools including most of the Ivy League schools as well as "the usual suspects" who compete with W&M for basketball recruits and a number of A-10 schools. He has no "Big Time School" offers,..... yet. He would be a great addition to the Tribe program but W&M was late to the party in terms of offers and other schools have been romancing this kid since 2015.
