Pinstripe Bowl/Notre Dame
WVU got upset by Kansas. Looks like Notre Dame will get the Pinstripe Bowl if they want it as the Big 12 will only have 6 Bowl Eligible teams, barring a miracle TCU upset of Baylor

Notre Dame in NYC.

The Subway Alumni of the 1920's are playing their games again!

ND just played a game in Yankee Stadium in 2010.......

Probably better than the other possible bowl game options, though.

I think that this will be a great game for the Irish. I almost with SU was still in the BIG EAST. SU/Pitt v. ND would be a great Pinstripe Bowl. The same goes for PSU next year (fingers crossed)

Between Cincy, Rutgers and Houston, who would Notre Dame want to play in NYC?

RU would give the best atmosphere, UC would have the most talent, and UH would be the best for recruiting. I'm going with RU.

If it's UC, I envision thousands of hostile Bearcat fans invading NYC in a chance to exact revenge on Brian Kelly. I doubt ND wants that.

I doubt this is the case, but if ND is in the Pinstripe, would they be able to determine their opponent?

The opponent would come from the AAC, and be determined by the AAC and the Pinstripe.

RE: Pinstripe Bowl/Notre Dame
Pinstripe gets the 4th selection(not necessarily 4th place)..

1st UCF
2nd Louisville
3rd would be either Cincy or Houston to me.
Pinstripe would be either Cincy/Houston or maybe Rutgers.

key game is next week- Cincy/Houston play each other.

Right. The Pinstripe will probably be choosing between Rutgers and the loser of the Houston/Cincy game next week.

Rutgers can't possibly be bowl eligible, can they?

Not yet. With the loss today, they're 5-4 but their last three games are somewhat favorable for eligibility: at UCF, at UConn and hosting South Florida so I'd pencil them in for now barring UConn and South Florida playing gangbusters.

That's amazing, as that's one bad football team. 03-phew

PS - Congratulations on the win over WV today. 04-cheers

Funny story about that: My parents are in Lawrence this weekend visiting my sister and her bf who are both students there. They called me last night asking my advice as to whether they should go. I said yes. They did, and I just got pictures from my sister of them rushing the field. It's crazy.

Sums things up well: Notre Dame Bowl Watch: Pinstripe Re-emerges as Possibility

As a Buffalo fan I'd like the Pinstripe to remain open for a certain at-large team :) I'd think [hope] if the SEC can't get to 10 eligible, ND would prefer taking on an ACC team in Shreveport.
