UVA loss, ODU's gain?
If London is fired this season, can we expect any transfers?
Speculate amongst yourselves. Ready, go...

not sure if it would be worth it, as we as considered FBS next season, any transfers would have to sit out a season.
That and all they know how to do up there in uva land is lose so...

The hope is that UVa doesn't go after Bobby. If Mike London got canned and they didn't take another FCS coach, maybe we could get Chip West back. That would be a huge gain for the Monarchs. Also any unsigned recruit would be fair game.

Two weeks ago, I thought no way would London get the ax. Not this year at least. It would not be a smart business move and would cost UVA a ton of money for his buy out. However if UVA ends up 2 -10. Well, there may be a quick out cry for UVA to say ....good bye and soooo long London.

RE: UVA loss, ODU's gain?
The QB situation did UVA in this season and last. Platooning Michael Rocco and Phillip Sims was a disaster. Now London has neither.
I don't think there'll be a Maryland style mutiny at UVA. I don't think London will be fired either.
Any of those 4/5 stars could easily transfer to another P5 conference school.
UVA has the money to go after someone with FBS experience. Wilder's name would certainly be mentioned but he wouldn't be on their short list.

UVA loss, ODU's gain?
I was watching the Clemson / UVA game yesterday and they stated that uva's AD has already said London will be back.
UVA has a great recruiting class including that beast of an OT from Oscar Smith. They would be foolish to fire him this year and risk losing him
and their other highly touted national recruits.

Mike London should have never been hired to coach at UVA. I would think Bud Foster who is now 54 and getting older would take a UVA offer.

The problem is Mike London has been putting together top 20-30 classes for some time now, he just can't coach them.
Nicholson, Sims, Mizzell were not only the best players in the state but best in the country as well.
This year's class is stellar with Brown and Blanding (as of now) but UVA needs to realize they can't keep chasing recruiting classes that never pan out.
USC had all the best recruiting classes with Lane Kiffin, where did that get them?

If uva hires Foster who will Tech hire when Beamer is fired?

Great point BYU- Foster has been carrying Beamer so long it's ridiculous. Beamer is a middling coach with no real imagination and may well be starting the slide out of relevance. Foster's defenses have made Tech what it is, not Beamer.

I've heard that Coach Wilder is on UVA's (unofficial) short list for if, but more likely when, London is fired... No official sources, just rumblings around campus and from some UVA boosters I know.

People say many things, especially boosters. UVA will not go with another FCS coach. London's National Championship run kicked him into the spot light at the right time. UVA went the promising up and coming FCS Coach once, won't happen again.
To start with, London will be back next year even if they finish 2 -10. However 2014, UVA will need a Bowl preforming year for him to remain at UVA.
Just dropping my 2 pennies into the opinion pool......... for whatever its worth.

Wilder at UVA won't happen until he can show that he can put a winning defense on the field. Foster at UVA makes to much sense.

If Bud Foster were to become the new coach at UVA the one staff member he would retain is Chip West. I would think that would be a no brainer. However you never know.

IF Foster were to be hired at UVA, wouldn't he be wise to at least look at BW as his OC? Could UVA pay him enough as OC to make it worth the jump?

I think, If Wilder would leave ODU, it would have to bean as a Head Coach. Just my thoughts.

RE: UVA loss, ODU's gain?
I can see Wider as an OC at a MAJOR program, and as a HC in waiting. Short of that, my guess he would only consider HC at any lesser programs.

i agree. i think London has closed the recruiting gap with Tech for this area. He cannot coach. I give him one more year. They are very quickly falling to the level they were when I grew up there in the 1970's

I dont think Foster would like a hurry up offense like BW runs. Foster is a defensive guy where his offense would have to be out there for 5 or more minutes a drive.
