If they signed and was a reason, coaching change or whatever, then still no problem. Not in "losing" his class, because he never sold Memphis, just himself. I didn't expect thim to stay, possibly Xavier, because he REALLY liked his visit... but, with no certain coach and losing everything else, no telling. He is one of two that I talked to about that time period and I totally understood his side. Still thought cal was a jerk about it to him and the U of M.

My problem was him having a closed door meeting with current players... before he was meeting about the Memphis job (the whole video of the door situation), and telling them to go to ky. My problem was his shots at long time supporters, from Gibson donuts, to "his" steakhouse, to Tiger Bookstore to former players, the banner celebrating most wins by a class. My problem was how he held out the city of Memphis, he had already accepted the job, for more money and attention, but was only using that time to contact recruits and players because that was the only time it was legal. Recruiting is a cut-throat business, yes, but it does rub me the wrong way when a recurit is stolen from Memphis by giving arranging a job never applied for to a coach, to get that recruit only because he had given a verbal to Memphis.

Is that enough to get your blessing that I might have a lil validation. I could give a few more, but might be breaking some lines on that one. So, I guess if not, I will just have to live with your lack of approval of my feelings about a former coach.

...and the way his wife cleaned out the University clothing account at Oak Hall to the tune of thousands while he hid out at his house, the way he never said goodbye to his Gibson's Donuts morning club guys, the way he thumbed his nose at Fred Smith, let his son wear Ky. garb at school in Memphis. Classless kick in the ---- to a city that loved and worshipped him.
But I guess the police were relieved they didn't have to ignore his trysts on Galloway Golf Course any longer.
