The immediate transfer rule brought our roster down to 74 last year (and most of those were star players who were recruited to go elsewhere). Don't speculate too far what O'Brien could have done with a full roster last season (8-4, with only one game that wasn't decided in the final seconds).

There may have been one 11-1 sanctioned Big Ten team and one 12-0 sanctioned Big Ten team last season.

We're already down to 66 this season (a year before the scholarship reduction begins) FYI.

Yes PSU lost scholarship players last season due to transfer, but the imposed limits on scholarships are not in effect until this season (2013-2014), where PSU is limited to 65. O'Brien did a terrfic job with last season's team and I expect PSU to continue to be a gritty, gutsy team for the next few years. I don't expect them to roll over and die.
