ECU lands HS Junior DB/S from Ayden-Grifton HS
Saw it in the Daily Reflector today and quite honestly I'm not sure what to think.

I attended AGHS from 2004-2008 and have followed the football team somewhat since graduation and while Cornwell has turned the team into a prime threat to make it deep in 1A (and starting this season 2A) playoffs this is quite honestly the first time I've heard of an AG player committing to (heck even being recruited by) an FBS school. And a Junior HS player nonetheless.

I'm not sure what to think about this really...

It all starts with the local talent. AG is a small school but has had a good run lately. Havelock, Rose, New Bern, Kinston, and Tarboro are all churning out D1 talent. Keeping these guys this side of I-95 is crucial for ECU in terms of in state recruiting. I hope the kid does well and honors his commitment.

Small but growing school, we were bursting at the seams when i was a student and always heard rumors of bumping up to 2A so I'm glad it's finally happening and the conference is a lot closer to AG now (Kinston, North Lenoir, South Lenoir, Green Central, and Goldsboro with non-conference being North Pitt, Farmville Central, etc)

ECU news = AAC newsworthy

Also, I bet we never even tried to recruit Reggie Bullock. He was ~30 minutes down the road from ECU.

If I recall correctly, Reggie committed to UNC fairly early in his H.S. career.

Get used to it. He'll be spamming the board with all kinds of OT 01-rivals before too long.

While I'm happy that we got this one, I can't be excited unless he pulls in more offers and end up still getting him.

Do you see every other school creating entire threads about single recruits they land? Use sound judgement.

Because these are usually material for the team board, unless it happens to be a 4 or 5 star.

Threads like this should only be for four and five star kids or close to signing day

Yeah this isn't a story here. If ECU lands a recruit that would be considered out of the norm it would be a news story, but an under the radar guy from 30 minutes outside of Greenville isn't something the average AAC fan gives a crap about, and they really shouldn't.

Yep get used to his random and dumb topics. He probably isn't reading this because anyone who ever has disagreed with him he has put on ignore(claims he's ignored 50 ecu fans). This isn't AAC news. Just like when our fans post ecu pump up videos for the upcoming season. Why would anyone care other than us?

Wow you didn't have me on block. I prefer 247 btw. Not a terry holland worshiper and I put basketball before baseball. If you'd like me to help hang up your hammock next time I'm in Greenville I will
