RE: Tulane to Big East
I've referred to Tulane as a legit possibility for years. Forget about on-the-field football. Look at the institutional profile: urban school in a good market, great recruiting area, top academics. Those are all assets that the Big East is looking for in a school.

You folks do realize every school in the conferences below us are talking to the Big East right? Just because they are asking doesn't mean they are ******* joining, get a grip.

Thanks for improving C-USA guys. Just take UAB and Rice and we'll be good.

The Big East has become the compost conference: keep adding %*&^, tumble it around, and see if anything useful comes out.

I'd say as well that it'd be a fit for those southern schools- Memphis, New Orleans, Houston, Dallas, Tampa, Orlando....

Nice city. Check.
Great fans. The handful of fans out there are probably great people.
Remodeled basketball arena. Is anyone there to see it?
New football stadium. See above.
Nice academics. Check.
We'll also ignore the entire "what they've done on the field/court" aspect. And the fact that while New Orleans is a greater market than say Hattiesburg, the city population has shrunk 25-33% depending on what you read.

Tulane was the one school I thought the BE would take from the remaining crop that made the most sense to me. At one point they were rumored for the Big 12.
It's a slam dunk fit.

I wonder if Boise and SDSU have indicated they're not coming, just holding off announcement to get something in line.....
if so-
East right now- say one of UConn/Louisville gone:
UConn/Louisville
Temple
UCF
USF
West right now-
Houston
SMU
Tulane
Memphis
if so, would need 4 more teams....
west I'd guess Tulsa a lock.
east- ECU and then UMass?

Just had the same thought... To me it's either that, or we're effed.

RE: Tulane to Big East
Like I said numerous times, Big East will just become CUSA. ACC will become old Big East. Get ready for it, because I assume ECU is next in line, after the western schools hopefully get added.
