It appears to me that OrangeCrush forgot about Wake when he looked up the numbers.

You may be surprised to know they are not in the town of Wake Forest. They moved to Winston-Salem in 1956. Wake Forest HS plays football in their old football stadium.

That HS stadium is in a stunning state of disrepair.

Zoom in ~2 more clicks. They are using the satellite camouflage developed at NC State. The initial version shows the field under repair. It looks like the date stamp is 2010. It reverts to the normal version when I zoom in. The normal version looks like 2011.

yeah, nice parking lot too, huh?
I wonder if the rules would allow ACC teams to make contributions to High Schools... they could improve their stadiums and we could get a little recruiting help. Even if it isn't allowed, I'm guessing it happens in Alabama and Tennessee... just sayin'

I doubt Clairton will ever make significant changes. Enrollment is dwindling. My dads class was in the 300 range, mines was 75, and the most recent class was 35. How this school got lucky at the right time to pull off 48 straight wins, and 3 State Titles is remarkable. Won't be long until the school closes.

Wow, that IS dwindling! If they close this school, how far to the next nearest H.S.?

Thomas Jefferson and South Allegheny is about 2-3 Miles and Elizabeth Foward is about 3-4 miles away. Clairton has sent out feelers last year for a merger but all of the surrounding schools said no.
