They've stated that the men's lacrosse program is happy where they are.
When Notre Dame joins, we'll have 6.

It is an interesting sport. I think it has more potential than soccer to catch on. It is very popular in high schools that have it in Virginia.

it's people throwing a little ball around and catching it with sticks with nets on the end of them
sounds a bit more exciting than golf and/or watching paint dry
and you think it has the potential to be more popular than soccer? wow

RE: Big Ten Lacrosse?
I guess most of these small timers in the Big Ten can't afford to sponsor all four of FBS Football, Basketball, Ice Hockey and Men's Lacrosse like Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Notre Dame and the University of Massachusetts do. Those five schools should just break away and form a new conference together.

There is a lot more going on that in soccer, it is more fast paced and involves more contact. So yes, I do think it has more potential.

if it wasn't for an $88 million donation, Penn State wouldn't have started sponsoring men's and women's hockey
and I'm not sure if a UMass fan should be smacking on other FBS schools since UMass just became a FBS school

It was more of bragging on his school than smack talking.

As for Northwestern not having the money, it's about spending the Big Ten Network money strategically in ways that will grow the Big Ten Network. Adding more Big Ten sports does that, especially ones that have a chance of attracting an audience.

I like Lacrosse and wish there was more interest out on the West coast. There's not much going on in the sport once you get past Denver.
