[split] The Big East and the Eastern 8--an easy split

Would that be correct? I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility of ESPN or someone else wanted this Eastern 8 basketball league if they got the BE tourney rights(St. John's home court) for $5-6 million a year per team. Of course it would depend on how the split went down, either the FB playing teams left on their own or the BB schools leave first would determine just who had the BE name. I would think it would be easier for the FB teams to leave on their own as a bunch of them could easily get offers(Louisville & Cincy/Rut/ND to B12, Rut/ND & UConn to ACC, etc.) from other conferences like TCU/WVU/Pitt/Syr. did thus making it easy for the BB schools to boot out the stragglers and having the BE name for themselves.

ROFL!!! Priceless... A Duke fan talking about stragglers, when they continue to take a BCS paycheck. Duke football should be FCS.

How is St. John's going to enjoy those road trips to Houston? And how about that intense Georgetown SMU rivalry? Villanova vs. UCF? Wow...TV execs will be drooling to put THAT game on Big Monday.

What is a Penn State fan doing talking about basketball?
St Johns/Houston? There is a lot more basketball tradition there than if you threw Penn State into that mix. Georgetown/SMU? Larry Brown vs. John Thompson? Sounds more bankable than if either played Penn State w/ their recent HC hire from Boston U. Villanova/UCF? Considering the recent success of USF, I wouldn't be so quick to judge UCF. They've been doing rather well. UCF has been beating high major programs like UF and UConn for awhile now. This years NIT invite is a good step forward.

Again, what has Penn State done in basketball except bow down at the feet of Juan Fernandez and the Temple Owls (another Big East program) in the NCAA tourney a year ago. Of course, besides failing to mention Temple, I see you failed to mention Memphis.

Since when aren't Duke fans allowed to talk about football and PSU fans allowed to talk about basketball?
