If the above happens...I think most will say: "and?" as in "so what?"
Its the OTHER games not in this list that will help get the Big East some respect.
Point being...teams from CUSA, MAC, Sunbelt, et al...beat teams like the above almost every year (ex: Louisville lost two HOME games last year to CUSA and a SunBelt teams)...does nothing to "help their perception" other than "yeah, you didn't play/beat the GOOD teams from those BCS Conf".

Is your glass half empty?
No one will watch the "other" games. It's not what you do, its what you do when people are watching that effects perception.

No...just pointing out that non-bcs AQ teams beat mid to lower ranked BCS teams every year...but that never changes their perception...as most think those mid-to-lower ranked BCS teams aren't very good.
That's all.
Now winning games vs Top 10 "powers"...that will help...but playing and/or beating the lower ranked teams?
As with every year when it happens: "So what?"
PS. Maybe you thought that programs like UK, Duke, Maryland, etc...are football powers...while I and probably most would strongly disagree.

I get what your saying, but there is nothing we can do about it. We can't make the strongest schools play home and homes. They won't do it, nor can they now that they have larger conference schedules. All you can do is win when people are paying attention.

RE: ESPN - Big East Perception
This has been the biggest issue for the Big East, there isn't a true power team.
Louisville-The U of L was the hot school coming into the Big East and for the first couple of season stayed that way. Enter Kragthorpe and Louisville has now lost six games five seasons in a row.
Cincinnati-UC entered the league with little football fanfare. After a decent 2006 which saw the Bearcats upset a really good Rutgers team there was a coaching change. Brian Kelly had three great seasons but lleft the 12-0 Bearcats before the Sugar Bowl. The question becomes can the Bearcats win without BK, the anwser in 2010 was no. A Big East co-championship and Liberty Bowl win in season two helped get the Cats back on track. Can Cincinnati win like it did under Kelly, we still don't have that anwser.
UConn-Huskies have had some good teams that usually compete for the top spot in the league. Problem for the Huskies is that even there best teams do not have the non-conference profile to turn heads. They have not had that top ten type season yet.
USF-The Bulls have a resume that includes the best non-conference wins for the returning Big East schools. Too bad the season doesn't end in October because the Bulls have crumbled in conference play after fast starts.
Rutgers-Program was on rise until UC ended a perfect season for them in 2006. After that it was a string of solid but not special season. The lack of a conference championship hurts. Maybe the coaching change can get the over the hump.

Most RU fans "wish" they were solid seasons.
After 2006, Schiano had a losing conf record (16-19) from 2007-2011.

... but Knight's point, and it is an accurate one, is that when Uconn plays Vandy or UofL plays Kentucky, nobody, or at least very few, is/are paying attention!
The games that draw attention are games like WVU vs LSU, USF vs Notre Dame. Games against big name AQ opponents.
It will take winning those games to change perceptions about the Big East.

It doesn't matter if people are paying attention. Just win baby. Win long enough and they'll start paying attention!
