This is a quote from Ray Harper that was posted on Twitter. #1. This is NOT the way to gain respect from fellow Sun Belt members. #2. IMO, this is beyond unprofessional. Especially if you are a HEAD coach. #3. He can't even spell "Tennessee" correctly.

This guy makes me dislike him more and more almost every day. Sorry WKU fans, nothing against you, but your coach is classless.

While Insell doesn't usually take direct pot shots in public(he does at alumni functions) he does frequently take indirect or more tactful pot shots at WKU in interviews and so on all the time.

My only issue with this is, it feels like Harper is the new kid on the block picking a fight with someone he hasn't truly experienced that much animosity yet, but he's just embracing what's expected of a coach in a rivalry.

While his comment was a bit brash, I wouldn't expect him to say that MT deserves to be in the tourney. That would imply that WKU doesn't deserve to be there.

In 07 we won the league, but lost the tourney and went to the NIT. It sucks but that is how it goes.

Pretty sure Coach Harper doesn't have a legit twitter account. I know there are a couple Fake Ray Harper accounts out there. The post above is not from the horses mouth. Harper has been pretty respectful towards the competition to this point, and that quote seems pretty out of character.

ray harper knows exactly what he's doing. that wasn't some flippant remark in response to a question. he premeditated that statement for the selection crowd.

ray knows that everyone needs a bad guy. if you watched rasslin' growing up like most kids in the south then you know there HAS TO BE a bad guy.

in bowling green and nashville rasslin' that was tojo yamamoto. len rossie was the good guy.

middle is obviously our best case scenario for a rival. closest school to us and we've played each other more than anyone else due to our days in the ovc and now in the belt.

i have no idea if ray doesn't like kermit 'i define mediocrity' davis or not. but his shot at middle was to fire up his fanbase...not the middle one.

i haven't seen any of the middle folks get on here and say what kermit said on 104.5 was classless.

when asked about ray's statement he said ray got his 375k contract and was a little full of himself.

he then added that western was a bad representative of the sun belt because we'd be a 16 and people would see the sun belt poorly and they would have been an 11 seed. (i almost sh!t myself on that as i think a 12 woulda been a stretch).

memo to kermit.....don't pull a kermit in big games and you might get your 11 seed.

i don't think that makes kermit 'classless'. just adds to the rivalry.
