My only explanation is they have some internal disagreement over replacing Coles with his longtime assistant Henderson (14 years under Coles).

If it was a slam dunk to hire Henderson, they would have already done it.

I expect that the 21 losses last year is keeping Henderson from getting the HC spot.

Yeah, not a lot of mid-major assistants get a promotion from being on a staff with three consecutive losing seasons.

For sure, if Henderson was going to get it, they would have announced it within a couple of days of Coles retiring.

I do find it interesting that Miami is without a coach and has signed nobody for 2012 yet. They had two seniors on their roster last year. You would think they would be trying to find guys to sign asap.

(One person on their board did mention that they thought McCormick probably would have gone to Miami if the coaching situation was figured out last fall...the poster didn't think McCormick was willing to wait and see if CC was retiring and/or who his replacement would be. Their loss...our gain I suppose)

Sounds like wishful thinking on MU fan.
After the commitment Kellen's dad was quoted talking about how close Perry, Klein and Kellen were. Friends for life or something like that.

Maybe not.

When Hawk got the job, they waited a LOOOOONG time to name him the coach.

Because of that, Silver Laku was the player he was able to add to that recruiting class. Not meant to be a knock on the kid. Just the reality of what happens when you wait to name the new head coach.
