You forget to mention that WVU and UConn are also battling it out for the #10 seed. It all depends on how the games turn out on Saturday...

UConn beats Pitt 70-65.

WVU beats USF 50-44. WVU made free throws and USF looked horrible in the last minute. USF charges while down 3 with 40 seconds left, then they let WVU run the clock down to 13 seconds before they foul (that's on Heath). Then Collins takes a 17 footer when he could have driven to the rim without resistance with 10 seconds left when down 4.

I don't know what the announcers are smoking though, talking about WVU as a lock with the win. Sorry but when you come into the day as a 12 seed, a win over another bubble team is excellent, but doesn't make you a lock.

I tend to agree, CC. A win or 2 in the BET would make me feel much more comfortable...

WV played a good game and had a good gamelan stuff the middle and force USF to shoot threes.

I think the BET just became more important for many teams today. Despite what Lunardi was saying, I thought UConn and WVU were in the worst shape of the bubble teams in the league this morning and they both picked up wins. I'll remove Cincy as a bubble team and say we have 6 locks.

That leaves UConn, USF, WVU, and Seton Hall. This morning this was the ESPN seeding:
Seton Hall- 11
WVU- 12 (5th-7th last team in)
UConn- 12 (5th-7th last team in)
USF- 13 seed (play-in game, 4th to last in)

Some may feel safer than others, but I wouldn't feel comfortable as a fan of any of those teams if they lost their opening game in MSG.

Big game coming up for the Aztecs today. Final conf. game and a victory for the Aztecs gives them a tie for conf. champs and the #1 seed in the MWC tourney.

At TCU at 4pm PST. TCU is playing REAL well and has not lost a conf. game at home this year.

Go Aztecs!!!

Bearcats win @ Nova. If Marquette wins then UC gets a double bye in NYC.

Anybody think Cincinnati is on the bubble? Ha, Bearcats are a no worse than 8 or 9, maybe higher.
