UTEP- 9 pts, 5 reounds, 3 assists 3-9

I still think it's Barton's award to lose, but if we win out and finish 3rd in the conference, Cam's chances will be significantly better than we thought they were about a month ago.

Barton went up against much tougher competition to get those numbers. I think he's got a decent shot of making one of the All-American teams. I actually think it maybe a unanimous decision.

I'd vote against Barton, early and often, just for his on-court demeanor.

Cam's blocks and rebounding are defensive stats, even if you have offensive rebounds, the stat is still a defensive stat.

Bartons stats are some what similar to Cams in that his stats are offensive, scoring and assists, where Cams are defensive, rebounding and blocks. They both score, they both rebounds, one blocks shots the other hands out assists.

I believe the POY is a MVP award based on which player impacts the play of his team and the league. Which player the team could not afford to lose.

Memphis could survive losing Barton just like they are doing now with out the injured 5 star player, who name I can't recall now.

So what is the difference between the two players I believe it depends on whether you like offensive or defensive basketball, but also what is the ratio difference between Cams assist stats and Bartons blocks stats.

I would vote for Cam, he scores, rebounds, blocks shots, assist, screens, and demand a double team in most games.

Do he make his team and the league better, I believe so. could the team afford to lose his play and still be successful ( even at 13-14 ) NO!

As the PPOY has Cam lived up to the preseason opinions of the 12 Coaches in CUSA, and here is the big one, with Memphis, UCF, SMU and Houston headed to the Little east, are there 8 coaches in CUSA, who will vote for Barton.

Cam CUSA POY he makes his team better.

I have not followed either player from game to game, but it is possible a Barton fan might say the same thing about him if asked.

That's how he gets his exercise. He has to do that almost every other game. Apparently according to empty.org, some of Joe Jackson's family came down onto the floor as well during the scuffle.

Announcers said they went after the Memphis assistant coach that was restraining Jackson.

Yeah, the video on empty.org shows the foul, which was a hard foul. Jackson is slammed to the ground on a breakaway. He gets up fighting. Pastner runs on the floor to restrain his players. The Memphis strenghth coach also pulls Jackson out of the crowd. Jackson pushes the strenghth coach and a fan comes down out of the stands and grabs the strenghth coach, but then backs down when he realizes that this is the STRENGTH coach. Some have said it was Jackson's uncle.

The video also shows Jackson shoving Pastner out of the way when Pastner was in his face and Pastner going ballistic, which I believe led to the confrontation between Will Barton and Pastner.

I am so going to miss this team in CUSA.

Barton and Jackson cant seem to stay out of trouble.

It was more than a hard foul...it was a hard foul then pushed to the floor. Jackson does have a temper when he believe he is being attacked and that will hopefully change as he matures. What trouble has Barton and Jackson been in maybe I missed it?
