WHAS 84 / Howie Lindsay Interview
This is last night's interview with Howie Lindsay.
Some background on Howie. He is the Editor of the Louisville Sports Report. I'm not sure what their circulation is but UofL is their number 1 subscriber. The LSR is sent to all Louisville season ticket holders.
During the final year of Steve Kragthorpe, Howie or his partner Jack Coffey, would immediately ban anyone with a negative opinion of the embattled football coach. The night before Kragthorpe was fired the LSR released a scathing opinion piece attacking everything he had done or failed to do during his time at UofL. The next day he was fired.
Howie says nothing without the approval of Tom Jurich. The best way to describe the LSR is that it is Louisville's Pravda.
If you are interested in Howie's comment fast forward to the 26:40 mark. He does not mention Temple being in the Big East 3 month ago or Louisville playing football in The Big 12 in 2012. He simply says Louisville will be gone from The Big East in 6 months.

This sounds like pure speculation. It's nothing that wasn't hypothesized before Temple's addition.
Why would anyone get worked up over that?
He doesn't even sound like he's speaking from any recent conversations with UL sources. It's a regurgitated, canned, comment.
Fact: Everyone knows that the reported Temple interest was precipitated by Boise not wanting to pay so many fees to get in for 2012.
If anything, it may speak to the optimism about Air Force coming in with Navy in 2015.

I don't expect the big 12 to stay at 10 members for very long. UL makes sense.

I just don't get the six months thing. He must mean "announcing their intentions to leave the Big East within six months." I mean, the Big 12 is not going to change that schedule again or pay another $20 million if they don't have to.

RE: Source: Louisville Rivals Editor / Listen for yourself
I listened. He said he thought Louisville to the B12 would happen in about 6 months or so. In the context of the conversation (where he had just said that people thought "it" would happen right after the WVU deal was settled, and "it" didn't), I think he was referring to the announcement ("it"), not when Louisville would start playing in the B12. That would then start Louisville on the same 27-month clock as everybody else, with the opportunity to buy out early, if they want to pay.
But if the announcement is in "6 months or so," they're not playing in the B12 in 2012. And he didn't guarantee Louisville was leaving, only that he "thought" the B12 would go to 11 and eventually to 12, and they were the logical choice, and it would be best for them.
I do think Louisville will go, and I don't blame them, but there was no breaking news in that broadcast.

That sounds like what ECU fans were saying the past few years about the Big East.
Meanwhile, the Big East stood pat.
How many years did the MWC ignore Boise, while prefering to keep their numbers low?
There's a reason for it.
Texas knows how to count ($$$).

Maybe it will happen. I'm still tired of hearing about it every day.

Louisville will be in the Big 12 if/when they expand. I don't see them in a rush though. They would need to lock down 12 too.

An occasional mention of this possibility, or a single new thread about a Louisville-to-Big-12 story, is appropriate for the Big East board. Bringing it up in every single blessed thread and creating multiple new threads about the same story is ridiculous and belongs on the expansion board.

We all get it... And most of us agree its the most logical choice.
But man.. you all are sounding so freaking desperate and juvenile posting every little mention no matter how trivial of the possible move.
Can it just be lumped into one thread?
... And on the Expansion board
