Jtiger, here's another 19" bike and good deal. Says it is brand new. The shipping is somewhat unclear.

RE: Mountain Bikes
I checked out Bikes Plus and Bike World this weekend and I really like the Giant XTC. It's a 29'er hardtail with good components and a carbon frame. I like the idea of carbon to not beat me up so much on the trails when it get's dry. Bike World didn't have much of a selection but the guy was super helpful and knew his stuff. I like the Specialized but I think the only carbon hardtail 29'ers were out of my price range. I went to Outdoors and wasn't impressed and didn't get any help either. I'm checking out RB's this weekend and will make my final decision then.

I know it's already been mentioned, but All About Bikes is a great place to try. I know Vic personally and he is a good guy. No bull crap. He is a lifelong small businessman too!

RE: Mountain Bikes
Two reasons i wanted a carbon frame. Lighter weight. Better ride. Two reasons i didn't get carbon. One....price. Two....reliability. I've heard too much about carbon frames, carbon seat posts, and carbon handle bars breaking. I met a guy this past summer who got hurt real bad when his full suspension carbon name brand bike broke. I haven't seen him since then, but i'd bet he doesn't ride carbon anymore.

All About Bikes had a nice article in the CA about them. I've never did much research on the Haro brand, but i did notice one of their bikes recently in a sales advertisement online, and it had a quality fork and components on it. I'm pretty sure it was a 29er and in the $500 range.

Jtiger @ outdoors, inc... Did you check out their "Scott" brand?

I'll add them to my list. I'm always up for a new bike shop

I was talking to someone at Bikes Plus and he said he wouldn't ride without carbon now because carbon is stronger than aluminum since it's woven. Also when carbon starts to fail it gives you warning unlike aluminum where it's a dramatic failure. It's the price that I'm trying to get over with the carbon. I'm leaning to a carbon and when I thrash the components I can upgrade them on the already good frame and the carbon frames are warrantied.

EDIT: I'm going to check out Mid Town bike as well since I work downtown I can check it out at lunch.
