Tulane has managed to retain 8 of 10 early commitments made under previous coach Bob Toledo. The defections were quarterback Kyle Sloter (6-4, 200) of Mt. Pisgah Christian in Atlanta, who picked USM, and offensive lineman Christian Eatherly (6-6, 270) of Rockhurst High in Kansas City, Mo., who has not made a decision about playing football.

Hey, no point in faking it when you don't have the passion. Athletics is too tough when you just plain don't want to do it.
