RE: Joe Paterno, 85, dies in State College
Paterno fired Sandusky in 1999 for being pedaphile
Janitors reported it to supervisors & went no futher because they were job sacred
why can't PSU recurit Pa anymore, because high school coaches knew
what the hell happened to the DA, that would really be ugly
BOT, Adminsraters, Athletic dept particapted in coverup
Paterno was atop of food chain, he's up to his neck in this slime

Paterno did great job in his life, he drove down the field buitifully
when he got to the end zone, he FUMBLED

People don't understand that. The way I see it, people who want to praise Joe Paterno are in favor of football over stopping child rape. Since Conaire did not answer my question about child rape in his law firm, I can only assume that he would allow it as long as his company kept strong. Pretty disgusting, but I suppose that is the world we live in.

His football accomplishments speak for themselves, but unfortunately for the victims, when the time came to do something to save many young boys from a creep of the highest order, Joe failed miserably, apparently because his #1 focus was on his legacy and his program. That will be his legacy.

Think what his legacy would have been had he acted appropriately in dealing with the pedophile who was his right-hand man for many years. He could have been the hero his many diehard fans still insist he is. It's sad, but the biggest tragedy is not Joe Paterno's and Penn State football's legacy being forever tarnished. It's the dozens of boys whose lives were damaged when adults knew and did nothing.

I think Paterno's family will be fine. His wife is collecting a ton of money in Joe Pa's pension.

The timing of the 1st case and Joepa calling in Sandusky and telling him to retire while widely considered a mastermind and in his coaching prime says otherwise. At the very latest Joe found out about Sandusky back in 2009 and then when the Grand Jury started the latest case and Joe testified, yet he still hung on to his position and didn't think enough to retire before we all found out. He could have stepped down 2 offseasons ago if he truly felt how he said he felt after the rest of the world found out. He was stubborn and hung on there, hoping to last long enough for the record I presume. His stubborness is what helped make the BOTs decision all that much easier. They said they were obviously disappointed in his failure to see things through with the allegations, but also embarrassed he was leading the "we are Penn State" cheers on his front long with 1000s of people. The final straw was his passive aggressive powerplay of dictating to the BOT that they need not worry about him he'll step down when he found appropriate...they thought he was in no position to make any such claims and make their own minds up. They did not fire him, he was "relieved of duties" and continued his employment as the tenured professor he was. It truly is sad it all came down to this, he could of and should stepped aside on his own terms and enjoyed some of his golden years with family.

His family will need those millions to settle the civil suits. I just wish Scott, Jay and the rest of them quit coming with statements and supposed letters written by their Dad supposedly prior to him dying. From 1998 through November 5, 2011 they had plenty of time to speak regarding the case. The program was more important as was JoePa's quest for the win record than all of the victims that were victimized after they became aware.

Moe, Larry and Curly are going to jail and if the old man didn't pass away it would be pretty awkward seeing him go to, but he would.
