Seven conference games, the last week is the first round of a playoff with the three division champs plus a wild card. Everyone else plays a "non-conference" cross-over game. They won't know for sure who the opponent is at the beginning of the season but they'll know if it's home or away. Maybe rotating opponents, maybe standard rivalries, maybe a bit of both.

03-puke Why not make our own separate NCAA division then? Jeez. As soon as we stage our own playoff, it's over.

To be fair GSU and ODU have bigger athletic budgets than several members of CUSA.

Thanks for the info. I didn't do the research and I should have before I just threw a statement out there.....my bad.

I'm still amazed however that many conference fans are looking at lower division programs or programs that have a year in real D1 football as potential members.

But, so be it. If I'm a lone man on and island, I'm not going to make a crusade out of it. We'll all play whoever the conference admits.

RE: MWC/CUSA map
Bringing in GSU or ODU isn't really any different than when UAB & USF came into CUSA 2-3 yrs removed from IAA football. At least GSU and ODU have stadiums on campus. Did USF really progress very much in 2 yrs? NO. UAB STILL doesn't have a stadium solution and they're consistently one of the worst teams in FBS.

Between GSU and ODU, I'd take ODU. They have a significantly larger athletic budget (almost double) and much better basketball. FB would be a push.

Acknowledged.

I'll be quiet on my concern.

You are right to be concerned as no conference should be taking on mouths to feed but most CAA schools have budgets in the $24 million to $30 million range. The real concern is on the field as you uptick scholarships over two years from 63 to 74 and then from 74 to 85 and then of course you have the financial side of adding 22 additional scholarships on the ladies side.

La Tech would be a terrible choice.
