Maybe Kent State?

Maybe EMU?

Maybe CMU?

Maybe BSU?

EMU fans believe our team will be better, despite a lot of losses on defense, but the schedule (both inside and outside the conference) will be tougher.

The common problem at CMU, Ball State, Miami is they a first tier MAC programs but have been hurt by all the coaching transitions. Once the staffs at those schools settle down they'll be fine.

At Kent State or Eastern Michigan the bar is 6-6. Once in a blue moon those programs are capable of contending for a MAC championship. Therefore they've pretty much improved to the point that can be reasonably expected.

Next year I would expect to see Buffalo make a move in the East. They beat Ohio in 2011 and there is definitely some talent in the program. They might be able to go 6-6. Akron and UMass should be wins and they might be capable of grabbing 2 wins among Kent, Miami, Temple. Jeff Quinn is in his 3rd year of the program and the recruiting at UB has improved dramatically from the pre-Gill years.

The MAC West is going to be wide open in 2012 with Toledo, NIU, WMU and even Ball State all capable of winning it. BG, EMU and CMU will all be competitive and end up in the 4-6 win range.
