Well he did at least link an article and offered smething to discuss. You just hurled an insult at ECU that wasn't at all on the topic of his link. The topic is Boise's get out of jail free card from the BE. This can either get on that topic or end up in the smack forum. I'm betting smack sooner than later.

If you hadn't noticed the "topic" is to insult the Big East. That was blatantly obvious right in the title by calling it a "pre-nup." Stop trying to legitimize his comment as though it were an attempt at serious discussion.

He insulted our conference & he received an insult to his school in return. Sorry that you & any other ECU fans undeserving of an insult were offended. The shot was not intended at you but to give him in kind what he gave us. That shouldn't be so hard to understand.

Yes the OP did insult the BE, but there was also a topic actually worth talking about that he linked. It is very interesting that Boise demanded and got that many outs. My opinion is that it shows the position of strength Boise was in and the desperation of the BE. I dojubt any other member got nearly as many easy outs. If this opinion comes off as an insult of the BE I apologize, but I think it's worth a real discussion that won't be possible in this thread most likely.

It is a common occurrence on most message boards, including this one, when a poster is sharing an article, blog, etc. from another site to utilize the title that the original article use. That is the case with this thread. In fact, one could learn this nugget of information by clicking the link and seeing at the top of the article, in great big bold letters this:

Well from most of what i've seen from the 5 AD's left in the Football conference is that They want Us to succeed , so I say if banded together with the other 5 additions and future ones Yet to be named, All willing to commit to improving the strength of All sports, this conference can , and will survive and thrive in the future.

That has nothing to do with it. I am just applying common sense to what makes a long lasting relationship. I am sorry that you could not understand that. Hell hath no fury like a Melky Cabrera who cannot see that the teams they are inviting only want a conditional relationship where they can escape when they stop loving the BE.

I think that the primary reasons we wanted to be in the Big East were because (1) it was a much more friendly conference from a geographic standpoint and (2) we wanted to be on a level recruiting field with the 4 other FBS schools in our state. If we just wanted the money, the story about us being willing to join without taking any of the BEast's money wouldn't have existed.

With the Big East's geography being now being worse than C-USA's, I don't know what our leadership wants.

They would still join as of today no questions asked, all sports or FB only. Now if AQ status goes away I am sure we would still join all sports, but FB only might not be worth it anymore. The merger is going to be a pretty darn good basketball league, potentially 3-5 bids, and a really good baseball league so it would be tough to want to leave that for just a FB only and have to dump our other sports in at best the CAA, but potentially even lower. Not saying we still wouldn't do it either, but it would certainly be a much tougher decision than it would be right now.
