2. Toledo 4-3 - a clear #2 for now
3. NIU 4-3 - should have been here or higher all along, but underachieving until a flawless 2nd half today
4. WMU 4-3 - laid a big egg

I know that when they actually played the game, NIU beat WMU but my stats show that WMU is the better team. In our bizarro world, I would rank it like this:

1. Temple
2. Toledo
3. WMU
4. NIU

No offense, but you, too, are an idiot. 01-wingedeagle

RE: MAC Rakings after Week 7
the only way to rank it is
Toledo 3-0
Temple 2-1 with lost to the undefeated
NIU 2-1 and beat the other 2-1 team that they played
WMU beat two 1-2 MAC teams, and lost to NIU

Rankings are silly because the way its shaping up the winner of NIU @ UT will probably win the West. Does it matter who is 1 and who is 2 going into that game? Nah.

RE: MAC Rakings after Week 7
I understand the sentiment to have Toledo #1 and that's fine. By the way, the correct records are Temple 5-2 and Toledo 4-3. Yes, we're ranking MAC teams but you have to rank the entire season.

Head to head means a lot, but not everything, see Florida State and Notre Dame in 1993. FSU was clearly the better team throughout the season even though Notre Dame beat them head to head, and FSU correctly won the national championship. It's impossible to always rank teams ahead of others they've beaten. Look at the body of work outside of the head to head and Temple has been very, very impressive. Toledo, eh, in some ways they have, but they haven't beaten a FBS team outside of the MAC. Sure they were close against Syracuse and Ohio State, but both are mediocre at best this year. Temple has rolled everyone they have played except for a close loss to 6-1 Penn State.

RE: MAC Rakings after Week 7
Temple may be better than Toledo against weak opponents since they sure have the killer instinct. Toledo does not. However, against strong opposition, Toledo plays its best football. Yes Toledo lost v Boise State and Ohio State, but Toledo was competitive throughout the games. The Toledo win v Temple will look even bigger as the season goes on since Temple really is an excellent team. The key will be in the bowl season when both Toledo and Temple show big name opponents how strong the top MAC teams really are.
