Truly offensive. But wait...
If we average 2.61 yards per play, then the secret to our success is to go for it on every 4th down.
4 plays X 2.61 yards = 10.44 yards = 1st Down!

That is what Keith did all through High School. Doug Martin might of tried it but I can't ever see that happening with Hazell. On second though.... our best player at the moment is Reinhart so for Hazell to make that move would be true to form.

RE: And then there is this......
I just ran into ex Kent State head coach Pete Cordelli. We started talking and he told me that he worked with Brian Rock (current KSU OC) at Western Michigan. Told me he was a horrible coach. The thing is, not only are we not really developing our talent, but the play calling is rotten. So while Pete couldn't win games at KSU, I trust his opinion. Combined with his assessment and what I have (or haven't) seen from our offense I think we have some serious issues. We are dead last in the nation in offense and our QB has continued to regress. Not good.

That would certainly explain some things about our horrible offense, but that is just one man's opinion. However, if we continue to have such a horrid offense throughout the rest of the season, does Hazel pull the plug on Rock after just one year?

Its not so much that the offense is bad. I could accept a "bad" offense. But they got worse. That's not cool.

Doesn't the fact that Pete said that say more about Pete then our OC. I myself distrust comments like that. Especially if he agreed to be quoted publically.

Rock may be a bad coach. But, honestly, to get this opinion from a guy that had a 3-30 record, or a winning percentage of .091, doesn’t hold a lot of credibility.

Burden and FlashFan - I am not a reporter. Pete and I are friends and he didn't agree to be quoted publicly. I am telling you about the conversation I had with a friend of mine who also happened to be the head coach at KSU previously. You can say what you want about his record at KSU, but he was a D1 head coach and Rock is a first year coordinator that is dead last in the nation. I will side with Pete on this until Rock shows he has anything in his bag of tricks.

Look, if Nick Saben, Gary Pinkle or Lou Holtz, any other Flashes with DI HC experience labeled Rock a bad coach, they’d have my ear.
I’m sure Pete’s a great guy and a good friend, but in my opinion, a DI HC coach with an .091 winning percentage - winning three games in three years - might be reminded about glass houses before he calls out another coach.
