I think one of the underlying points is that there are lots of sources of money for ETSU that are not taken advantage of. I would just like to get a president that actually makes a public appeal for money for athletics. I cannot remember such an appeal being made in the last several years. I think this way that enough money can be raised for FCS football.
I again ask, can ETSU afford NCAA FCS football? If ETSU is outspending all but one of the Tennessee state FCS schools on athletics (per USA Today), how can they fund football and ETSU can't? Somebody help me here to understand this. What makes ETSU so radically different from these other state schools, from many other FCS regional universities? Help, can someone please give me a rational financial answer to this very basic question?
There is a one word answer to this. Discrimination. That is the only way ETSU can be the only school in the state of Tennessee without a marching band. Discrimination. It may be coming from our own Administration Building but it is still discrimination and it has set ETSU back about 8 years. Backwards. Laughing stock. Moving in reverse. All these things describe where we are now. It changes 1/11/2012.

Blantantly obvious to all of us. Not so obvious to a tennis coach.
