Pac-10 who's your team, UW??, ASU actually played very close in all but one of its meetings with FSU, I hope one day in the not so far future the teams can meet again. Here are the results.
ASU vs FSU in Tempe, W45-38, L 26-29, L 44-52. In Talahasee L 3-31.So actually FSU is 5-1 all time vs the Pac, however their winning percentage would obviously be lower if they had more matchups or played Pac 10 teams every season, their 74-4 ACC record is ludicrious, I couldn't even see them with a .700 winning percentage in the Pac. GO DEVILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">ASU Devil...
The 45-38 loss FSU suffered at the hands of ASU
on the Fiesta Bowl...was when the Devils were part
of the WAC...not the PAC-10! The 31-3 game was
played in Tampa, not in Tallahassee...Although
it would be safe to assume that there were more
'Nole fans there than Devils.
W/O Question our 74-4 Conf record is lusicrous.
However let's study that more intently.
Between 1987 thru the 2000 season...FSU's record
was 151-19-1. Now subtract the ACC from that
and we are 83-17-1! (That ain't too shabby...huh?) Let's look more intently. During
that same time span we were 18-11-1 vs Florida &
Miami. So if you subtract the ACC and subtract
our instate rivalries, which an earlier post
suggested we needed to get out of the south, our record is 65-6 against the rest of the country, including 2 wins vs USC. That 65-6
mark is about as ludicrous as the ACC mark...huh?
Further...Our Bowl record over that span...
87: Fiesta Bowl Beat Nebraska
88: Sugar Bowl Beat Auburn
89: CarQuest Bowl Beat Penn St
90: Fiesta Bowl Beat Nebraska
91: Cotton Bowl Beat Texas A&M
92: Orange Bowl Beat Nebraska
93: Orange Bowl Beat Nebraska
94: Sugar Bowl Beat Florida
95: Orange Bowl Beat Notre Dame
96: Sugar Bowl Lost Florida
97: Sugar Bowl Beat Ohio State
98: Fiesta Bowl Lost Tennessee
99: Sugar Bowl Beat Va Tech
00: Orange Bowl Lost Oklahoma
So if you want to go one step ****her...subtract
those games out...now we are 55-4 against the
rest of the country in the regular season...
To set the record straight. My posts were in defense of what PAC10 was writing. That we are
all nothing more than cannon fodder for the PAC
10...That is the only ludicrous remarks that have been made. No one has written that the PAC 10 is
not the conference of Champions. When you count
all sports...Men and Women...that is unquestioned.
However in some parts of this country there are
only two viable sports...Football and Spring
Football. Then the dander gets up and the facts
are posted. If other schools don't/won't play us,
that is not FSU's fault. Looking at the past records...I understand where other schools are
coming from. It is better to "duck them" than be
"whipped by them"...ask Nebraska, LSU, Auburn,
and to some extent...Notre Dame. They have come
back on our schedule under "our" terms not there's.
Their terms, in the early 90's...We play at South
Bend in Nov. (Take advantage of cold weather) they
would play us in Florida in Nov. (When it's not
as hot) and they would play us in Orlando, Jax,
or Tampa...not in our home stadium.
Our terms...Home and Home...Mid to late Oct, same
time for both games. They come to Tally this year
on Oct 26th. Knute Rockne passed away a long time
ago. It is 2002 and they need us more than we need them.
The almighty Irish...have So. Cal stuck in their
ludicrous demands. Trojans go to South Bend in
Late October. But Irish never come to LA until
late Nov or early Dec.
