When something is getting too hot, you cool it off.
When that something is a nuclear reactor, you err on the side of doing too much, not too little.

You should be happy to hear that the Japanese PM has apparently now asked the US for help in cooling the reactor.

If containment is breached in any of these reactors, it is obviously not a good thing. There seems to be some confusion over what's going on with the potential breach ... I've seen some comments that there may be two number 4 reactors.

Amongst the grist for the rumor mill is that ABC.au is reporting that the reports of radiation levels have been misreported as micro-sieverts instead of milli-sieverts. That would er, change the implications.

Time will tell if there will be substantial releases outside of the immediate area that will prove to be of serious concern.

LastThread's concern about the workers seems pretty well warranted now if any of the containment vessels are breached.
