Kent and Miami have pretty equal schedules coming down the stretch. Central Michigan has a very favorable schedule remaining. If EMU beats WMU in Ypsilanti, it's still possible for CMU to win the west.

i'm still trying to figure out how you broke the tie between OHIO, BG, and UB. i see where BG is 2-1, OHIO is 2-2, and UB is 1-2. to me, that breaks it. but then you went ahead and broke OHIO and UB again even though we're not tied anymore after applying the first criterion. it seems to me BG would be 6, OHIO would be 7, and UB would be 8. not that i'm quibbling at this point since it doesn't matter yet anyway, i'm just trying to figure out why you added the second level when it didn't appear to be necessary. thanks!
You break the three-way tie for 6th. Then, you have a two-way tie for 7th, so you go back to the first tiebreaker to break that one.

oh ok, i see, thanks. i think i was not going back and starting over for 7th after breaking the tie for 6th. that's where i made the mistake.

=>BB,

Spicer is right. I believe that is a change for this year as well.

I personally do not like it as it makes for more work in figuring it all out!

That being said, MAC basketball media guy tweeted the following...

If the #MAC Men's Tourney Started Today: 1. KSU, 2. BSU, 3. MIA 4. Akron, 5. WMU, 6. BGSU, 7. Ohio, 8. UB, 9. CMU, 10. EMU, 11. NIU, 12. UT

yeah i agree. i'd love that road to the Big Dance! two MAC West teams in the first two rounds, hated Miami in the semi's and rival Kent State in the final. the Q would be rockin' with those last two games!

Moll, thanks for sharing that tweet from Jeremy. i guess it just confuses me again, though, as it appears to follow the "old" logic and not the "new" logic that yours is following. oh well, it doesn't matter until after the games of March 4, right?

Kent would have to get through Buffalo AND Akron, most likely. Not an easy road to hoe.

vrey true, both would be hard for them. i like matching up with any of those teams in a potential final, though. the atmosphere would be intense no matter what! love this time of year!
