I say add Temple and UMass for all sports, or don't add them at all. It just makes the MAC look bad & doesn't help the leagues basketball image. How are people outside of the conference going to take MAC basketball seriously, when the league office & conference members i.e. Temple or possible member UMass do not? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for new exposure, especially in the Northeast, but I'm not so sure this is the type of exposure that sheds the league in a positive light.... i.e. have any of your taken a look at the UMASS posts/boards?

The MAC needs to stop adding uncommitted schools.

Also, think of it this way. We add another football-only school and then one of them (Temple or whoever the 14th is) leaves for whatever reason. We are back down to 13 teams again. Do we look to add another 1-AA school who just wants to use the MAC for football?

If we add, then we need to add schools for all sports. Adding schools for the sake of balancing divisions is not the answer.

I don't agree with it either. I don't know what we gain. Our revenues are just split amongst one more team. Travel costs go up a little. UMass will be like UCF, they don't fit and have no plans to stick around, nor will they ever join for basketball. They already look down on the MAC and they're not even in it yet. And if it's too expensive for travel for all sports, do they really belong in the conference? We complain about what it costs NIU to go to a bowl game. What about the cost to travel to UMass? They won't show up in any numbers at either the conference championship game if they ever get there, or a bowl game in detroit, or any of the other bowl games probably.
