Citrus, you are dead wrong. UCF told football recruits this past signing season that they were on their way to the BiG East as of next year. Several recruits were quoted as such.

Never heard that. But, what suckers they were, BTW

I don't know if any believed it, buy I k ow several of our signees from Florida mentioned it. And one or two ayers who signed with them did as well.

As did Memphis and ECU coaches and probably some from schools like Akron that aren't really candidates. Coaches will say anything in recruiting, and that means nothing so far as an official statement by a university. The only "source" for that is hearsay from interviews of athletes. Heck, I've heard of one former CUSA coach who used to tell kids his CUSA team would be in the SEC by the time they were seniors. Coaches talking to recruits are not a communication by the university and coaches will say anything. Ever read "Meat Market?" I'm sure WVU was telling kids they'd be in the ACC/SEC, Rutgers in the Big 10, and whatever else. Let me know when UCF releases a memo to boosters describing internal Big East communications and criticizing them. Or when our AD goes before a booster meeting and declares we'll be in the Big East soon.

Memphis was guilty as well. Not sure on ecu. But if it cones from a coach of YOUR school how us that not the same?

Sounds like Toledo saying the same thing several years ago, BJ. I remember UC losing a player to Toledo (Barry Church, if I remember his name), and the player was quoted as saying that he would finish his career in the Big East, so he chose to go with Toledo instead of UC. Funny stuff...

Well he ended up signing with the Cowboys, so it didn't turn out too badly for him. Glad Church is out of the MAC.

If any ECU recruits were told that "we" were going to the Big East, they were told correctly... it's just that "we" meant Skip and the coaching staff.

He may have been drafted had he ended up at UC. He would have had the opportunity to play on a national stage the past 2 years.
