With all due respect to you, Smaug (one of the best and most intelligent posters here), Memphis could go 2-28 and uab 25-3 and Memphis would still be light years ahead of uab in terms of relevance to college basketball
From your own board. *ahem*
If gaining a few token votes in the polls right now floats your boat then the level of mediocrity that uab has attained is right on target for you...
No, that doesn't float my boat, and we're not on target, yet. My point was the relative current relevance of our programs as of 19:12 CST, Tuesday, January 12, in the year of our Lord, 2010.
You and Bossy keep on and on about how much better than UAB Memphis is. I was just pointing out that the people that matter say different.
If you think getting a few votes makes uab more relevant that Memphis, this year or any other, then you are truly delusional...Truly...This is why I really can't stand uab...You guys are nuts...You're all jealous of the success of the Memphis basketball program, and it is so obvious...Logic, reason and facts don't apply to your line of thinking...Relevance means much, much, much more than getting a few throw in votes by the pollsters...Relevant is the word YOU used and you have no idea how to use it in this argument

*sigh*
"Delusional"? This from the guy who believes Derrick Rose took his own SAT?
I'm not jealous of Memphis. Fact is, if it weren't for blowhards on internet message boards, I wouldn't think about Memphis at all. You areally aren't as important to me as you might think. Win. Lose. Take your ball and go home. I really don't care. Just don't go strutting and preening when you've been winning dishonestly, and then be shocked at any backlash you might get.
I've seen you say more than once that UAB fans were "legends in their own minds" and I think, "Jesus, dude. Do you ever read your OWN board?"
We (and the rest of the conference, as well, by the way) listened to Memphis fans tell fans of schools with legit basketball histories to "step up" and "enjoy your mediocrity" the whole while Cal was buying you games.
I realize a little humility is too much to ask, but are you really going throw out common sense?

RE: 62
I'm with you on the "sigh" part
I never, ever said Rose took the test or didn't take the test...What I've said is that the NCAA doesn't know either...AND they have admitted so...THAT'S where the question of punishment arises along with the frustration
Yes, I have said many times that uab and their program are "legends in their own minds" and I believe that but I don't recall saying the other
I don't think Memphis is the end all/be all of anything much less basketball but I do think that the Memphis basketball program is better than the uab basketball program, by a wide margin actually and I think facts point to that...I would never bring my feelings about that subject up if it were not for "message board blow hards" (which we all are when you really think about it) from uab claiming to be the best thing since the motorized engine...That's pretty much it
