Get real buddy, I'm not sure where you were sitting, if it were in or near the student section I'd see why you'd think that WKU brought less than 10 fans, because the only section of their fans you could see would be the one next to the band in the endzone. They had the two sections on the other side of the band each about 1/3 full or so. I'd say they brought 150 fans or so. Pathetic, but to say they brought less than 10 is just dumb.
Furthermore, if we were winless, I seriously doubt we'd bring well over 1,000 to their place.
We would most definitely bring that many to Bowling Green. We easily brought that many last year on a miserable Saturday Buddy.
I don't know man. I mean it's possible because last year we were 3-6 when we went up there, so it's not like we were having a great season, but we also had revenge on our minds knowing we were the better team the year before and fully expected to win that game.
However, if the situations were truly reversed, I still maintain we wouldn't bring 1,000 to Bowling Green. Coming into our game Western had lost 14 consecutive games and 20 consecutive games against FBS teams. In that span of 20 games, only 3 have been decided by less than a TD(two of which were in 2007). In that 14 straight game losing streak, one game was decided by less than a touchdown and only one additional game was decided by less than 10 points. During that 14 game consecutive losing streak they are losing by an average of 19 points.
We've had some rough times since moving up to FBS, but our longest losing streak in that time is 7 straight games(the last three games of 06 and the first four of 07)so we've never even been close to the situation they're in. So I maintain, that if the roles were reversed, we wouldn't bring 1,000 fans.
Agree to disagree.
I guess you're just more optimistic than I am. If we'd lost 14 straight games by an average of 19 points, I'd still make the trip to BG and I assume you would. I know a few dozen or so off the top of my head that would, but I don't know where the other 950 or so would come from.
The good news, we made the transition from FCS to FBS without anywhere near the hard times that Western finds themselves in. We've been playing FBS football for eight and a half years and our longest losing streak in that time is half as long as WKU's current streak that started in week 5 of their second transition season. Furthermore, I have no reason to believe we'll go even go on a losing streak as long as that one from 06-07 any time soon and Western has shown no signs of breaking their winning streak any time soon. If they don't get the win this weekend, I don't know when they will.
