Losing to Rice was probably bad but livable, barely winning against the lowly WarHawks is livable too, and losing to WKU at WKU would be livable too, accept the way we lost. How do you go 10 minutes without scoring? Mo. St. was just a sticker game. WKU must be that same kind of sticker game.

The goals from here are still:

1.Win all your home games (2-0)
2.Split the road games (0-1)
3.Go 2-2 in the 4 games against WKU, USA, and Middle (0-1)
4.Make the SBC conference finals
5.Make it to some kind of post season

I still think we are ok. The bad part of the loses has been the amounts. The Mo. St. and WKU loses we were never even a game. Wright State and Rice we at least games we were in those games. I can live with that and a 8 point loss to Memphis was a livable loss too.

North Texas on Thursday is probably the only team that can contend with us in the West, so beating them twice is probably a goal too. In the past we have owned NTU. The probably have better talent but lessor coaching.

I see many have pushed the panic button. I see Dr J and got his fire Steve Shields web site up again but it seems like a little early to push the panic button. We still have 3 games left for goal 3 and two of those games are at home. We have defended home court so far, goal 1. Goal 2, split the road games, still has a lot of road games left to play.

We are ok to this point. If we lose the rest of the games against WKU, USA, Middle and NTU. That would be 6 loses and probably time to punt. I don't see that happening. I still think we will win the West and have a good chance to be there in Hot Springs on the last night of the tournament.

The website comes out after every loss. I think we're pretty much where we expected to be other than the loss to Rice. Most figured we'd lose to Creighton, but beat Wright State- since the opposite happened that was a push. Most would have taken a split against MoState and ORU and that's what we got. No one expected us to win at Memphis or WKU. No one really likes to lose by 32, but I know that I (and I would assume players and coaches as well) get over a 32 point loss a lot quicker than a 1 point loss and they both count the same. UNT is our first "must win" game if we want to win the West. We'll get to revisit this after the National Championship game ends Thursday.
