Smack board discussion cont...
I'm better at talking hoops than I am at Smack, so I thought I'd carry this conversation over to your board.04-cheers
At any rate, there's been some great questions brought up on all sides about recruits, players, next year, etc. Some of you had asked about Tiggs and his ability to knock down the 3. Tiggs is much more of a penetrator/slasher than a jump shooter. He'll benefit us by bringing intensity on both ends of the floor, and he also has the ability to guard nearly everyone. In many ways, esp.defensively, he'll be like Eryk Thomas was for us last season.

Tiggs will most likely end up being a good player. but we'll see when the season begins. Out of all KSU's new players...there is only one i'm not sure about. Tanner Jacobs. Main reason being i know nothing about him. I like his height, and he seems athletic. i'm hoping he makes an impact. he was a beast in highschool on the boards. Everyone else from Mattone, Daugherty, and Green, i know will be good. Also Jon Alison i'm worried about. Good touch around the basket, but i dont know if he's strong or aggressive enough.

well i just found some stuff on him...apparently louisville was interested in him, not sure if the offered him a scholarship..prob just walkon..but the fact pitino was interested makes me a bit happy.

also this is what kentucky.rivals or w/e were saying about him b4 his senior year.

"Rapidly improving in all areas, solid summer camp and tourneys has stock on the rise in college recruiting. Raw strength provides advantage in post, plays with intensity and is physical. Shot accuracy and development of post moves has increased offensive effectiveness, footwork improved. Battles for every rebound, blocks-out every possession. Defense is still improving, has learned to better position self when protecting the post. Refuses to be out hustled, expect leadership role to grow throughout coming seas"

i'm sure some of it was embellished, but i'm pretty sure the last sentence wasnt..and thats what i like to hear. i would love to have a Mike Smith type guy on our team.

Who played some PG for you guys behind Ingle last year? I recall thinking that he could be a good leader/PG for you guys once he got some experience. He showed flashes last year but also looked like a deer in headlights at times too. It's so hard for a freshman to make that jump, esp. a PG.

Who do you guys anticipate starting next year? Will some of this incoming players steal a spot, or is too hard to tell as of yet? Any word on the 6'10" kid yet.

Ladaris Green is the 6'10 kid and he'll be with us next year. He'll be starting for sure. I saw him play against Wheeler who has JJ hickson..a 5 star recruit going to NC State..and Green was by far the best player on the court. He was pretty much owning Hickson.

And the pg you were talking about..Zach Berry. Good player, his ball handling got better as the season went on and has the ability to be one of the better three point shooters in the league. but like you said, he tended to play scared. he'll most likely be backup again, but he'll still be seeing good minutes

PG: Nick Mattone
SG: Ronnell Wooten
SF: Jon Nickerson
PF: Shaun Stegal
C: Ladaris Green.

i'm almost one hundred percent sure about everyone cept the pg spot which very well could be taken by Ryan Daugherty. And you never know..Zach could of improved and take the spot.

So who's gonna be ur center next year buc?

I'll feild that one. Right now it seems Andrew Reed...a 6'8 bean pole will be, but we are still after some big guys right now.
