Anybody here actually believe the stuff that twinky-king puts out?
I just find it amusing, because he didn't have the brain power to make it out of his freshman year at Michigan.

As I said in a previous post, he reminds me of the old english version of pravda. As I read that in the 80s, it hard to beleive anyone took it seriously, but some did, but then some people beleive those alien stories in the tabloids also. :D

I personally dislike Michael Moore and disagree with most of his opinions. But as to his 'bowling' movie, in addition to the inaccuracies, I just found it to be a bad movie. It was boring and on a scale of 1-5, 5 being the highest I give it a 1. It was so unwatchable I will not watch his new movie 9/11.I go to the movies for entertainment and his movies just aren't entertaining. In contrast I disagree with many of Sean Penn and Tim Robbins views as well, but they are both stellar actors who have been in some absolutely great films and I continue to go see their movies.

I can't wait to see it.
I hope those swing voters who remain in this country go see it, too.
This New York Times sort-of-review is worth reading:
<a href='http://www.nytimes.com/2004/06/20/movies/20SHEN.html' target='_blank'>http://www.nytimes.com/2004/06/20/movies/20SHEN.html</a>
Readers Digest version: This movie gone through an extraordinary amount of fact checking. Republicans will surely attack some segments as unfair, but even these segments have some foundation. (I mean, just because its mean or irrelevant to point to our president's past financial relationship with the bin Laden family doesn't make it untrue. Bush has spent years emphasizing wholly irrelevant "ties" between Saddam and bin Laden. He deserves this).
But this is the kicker. This is why I hope everyone sees the thing. Quoting:
Besides, it may turn out that the most talked-about moments in the film are the least impeachable. Mr. Moore makes extensive use of obscure footage from White House and network-news video archives, including long scenes that capture President Bush at his least articulate. For the White House, the most devastating segment of "Fahrenheit 9/11" may be the video of a befuddled-looking President Bush staying put for nearly seven minutes at a Florida elementary school on the morning of Sept. 11, continuing to read a copy of "My Pet Goat" to schoolchildren even after an aide has told him that a second plane has struck the twin towers. Mr. Bush's slow, hesitant reaction to the disastrous news has never been a secret. But seeing the actual footage, with the minutes ticking by, may prove more damaging to the White House than all the statistics in the world.
All the Republican spin in the world can't cover for how that's going to look on the big screen.
Bush will be his own worst enemy in this film. Not Moore.

Slate has a really good piece on the movie & Moore:
<a href='http://slate.msn.com/id/2102723/' target='_blank'>http://slate.msn.com/id/2102723/</a>
More interesting is the moment where Bush is shown frozen on his chair at the infant school in Florida, looking stunned and useless for seven whole minutes after the news of the second plane on 9/11. Many are those who say that he should have leaped from his stool, adopted a Russell Crowe stance, and gone to work. I could even wish that myself. But if he had done any such thing then (as he did with his "Let's roll" and "dead or alive" remarks a month later), half the Michael Moore community would now be calling him a man who went to war on a hectic, crazed impulse. The other half would be saying what they already say—that he knew the attack was coming, was using it to cement himself in power, and couldn't wait to get on with his coup.

There are a number of things I dislike about the Bush Administration, but if his being stunned in his chair for a few minutes after being informed is the "most talked about moments" of the film, then this really doesn't say much for the other 89 minutes of it...
(Obligatory French joke) Maybe that's why the film had a standing ovation in Cannes. The French were actually applauding Bush, as they could relate to his being frozen in befuddlement in the face of danger. :D
In all seriousness, I'll probably catch the film sometime. Not sure when.

I read that slate article earlier, if the movie is as bad as the review says, I can't see how swing voters will be pulled over to Kerry's side from the movie. Portraying Iraq as a peaceful country invaded by western imperialism? Come on.
In other news, I just saw this today. I don't know how good it will be, but it's worth knowing about if you are a friend of free speech. <a href='http://www.michaelmoorehatesamerica.com/' target='_blank'>http://www.michaelmoorehatesamerica.com/</a>

What the hell did people want him to do in front of a bunch of children? Jump out of his chair and start screaming that America was under attack?
Maybe he had to gather his thoughts as to how he was going to handle the situation.
Good Lord, I'd like to see how most people would react to something like that if they were President and got the news while reading to a bunch of school kids.

I'd say the occurance of a terrorist attack significant enough to suspend air travel in the entire country for a couple days is important enough to clear your schedule for the rest of the day and leave the agenda item you're currently involved in. I have a feeling the school administrators would have understood.
But Georgie would always rather read kindergarten books, now wouldn't he. They're a lot easier to understand than those darn newspaper articles.
