Now if Boone Thorgenson can talk that WR out of his baseball scholarship at U of I and come play WR at NIU, we'll be set.

By the way, is Thorganson projected to play QB for us?

Huskies celebrate Poinsettia Bowl invitation
http://www.daily-chronicle.com/articles/...orts07.txt

By Nick Gerts - Sports Editor

[quote]The Huskies are hoping it will be a great experience on the field as well. The bowl invite became a success on Saturday, as 15 prized recruits witnessed the moment at the Convocation Center.

NIU coach Joe Novak said 14 of those players gave oral committments and hopes to have the last one wrapped up today.

One of those players was Kaneland quarterback Boone Thorgesen. The 6-foot senior gave his commitment to Novak Saturday.

He doesn't seem big or fast enough to play anywhere else.

For sometime, you have had both Newcomb and Grady listed as our #9 commit. You need to correct the numbering on the list, as it actually comes up one short with the double numbering.

With Thorganson being named 1st team All-State by the Tribune, that marks the second straight year that we've landed the Illinois 1st team All-State QB. 2 Points if you can name the 2005 honoree.

Was it Tyler Knight?

I doubt Thorgsen will be able to talk his WR out of an IL baseball scholarship. His WR will likely be drafted in the top 3 rounds of the MLB draft and he's stated that if he is he will play minor league baseball so it's likely Illinois won't get him anyway.

Seems like this class is QB heavy with 12 (?) commits so far and now 3 QB's or players who will get a shot at WB (Harnish, Thorgsen and Grady). This team needs more depth on the Dline.
