Wow Hornsounder you hate FL enough to write a novel about it. You are obviously not aware of all the reasons Spurrier left and I dont think I wanna get into that w/you. Spurrier was the evil genious, plain and simple. Most people hated him and he loved it. If that is your reason for hating FL thats fine, but hating FL b/c of their fans is a little hypocritical. We do have plenty of bad fans but nothing like I have seen from scUM. Anyone who has played sports knows very well that matchups sometimes make a difference, you're right about that. Mad props to you. But, the same people know when they're opponent is vastly superior. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing but great respect for UT. Great fans, great atmosphere, and one heck of a stadium. But, I've been tired for years of listening to Gator Fan talk trash about what would happen if they played Miami...Well now they know, and for the first time in a long time, they have shut their pie holes.

Well thanks dad for pointing out my typo. I appreciate it. If you think FL is going to fall apart after this season well I should warn you to think again. The reason Rex & Taylor Jacobs even stayed at UF is b/c of Zook. He is a great recruiter and was partly responsible for recruiting some of the players that won the NC in 96. When I use the word hate I dont mean it as it may sound to you. I, like lots of other people, sometimes use that word lightly. Hate, dislike or loathe...whatever you have against UF its perfectly acceptable since you're a Cane. I'm just defending my team. Maybe we'll even the series next yr in wonderful Miami! While the big 3 in Florida are usually ahead of the rest of the nation, I find many of the games between them to be rather lackluster competitively. Of course I probably forget about a few of the better games but I can't recall the last phenomenal (spelling?) intrastate game in FL. Which game am I overlooking? I get the feeling it's about to be thrown in my face.

like you expected, here it comes. For starters, there are the 3 Wide-Right games against FSU, each of which came down to the final second. I remember sitting in the Orange Bowl with FSU storming back from a huge deficit. It seemed inevitable that FSU would score. With 2 seconds left, FSU kicked what should have been a chip-shot. The kick went just wide of the right upright, and the stadium went from absolute silence to an elated roar the likes of which I have never seen since. I was very aware of the reason it's a big deal when the FL teams play. They are more televised (understandably so) versions of the Egg Bowl and Battle for the Golden Boot. Whoever designed that trophy oughtta be shot. It's hideous.
